Editorial Board

The Editorial Board of IJMIE comprises active researchers with international standing across the materials science and engineering community. Board members guide the scientific direction of the journal, uphold its ethical standards, and oversee a rigorous double-anonymous peer-review process.

Action required before indexing. Scopus, DOAJ and Web of Science verify that a real, internationally diverse editorial board exists, with full names, affiliations and (recommended) ORCID iDs. Replace every [PLACEHOLDER] below with real members, and also add each member in Dashboard → Users & Roles and the Editorial Masthead so the board appears in the machine-readable Masthead that indexers check.

For credibility with indexing databases, aim for at least 8–15 board members drawn from a range of countries and institutions, with no single institution dominating.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Editor-in-Chief — holds ultimate responsibility for editorial content and standards, and makes final decisions on submissions.
  • Associate Editors — manage peer review within their subject areas and recommend decisions to the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Editorial Board Members — advise on scope and policy, review manuscripts, and help promote the journal.

Appointment & Terms

Board members are appointed by the Editor-in-Chief and publisher on the basis of scholarly record and subject expertise, normally for renewable terms of three years. The board is reviewed periodically to ensure active engagement and appropriate disciplinary and geographic coverage.

Editorial Independence & Conflicts of Interest

Editors recuse themselves from handling any manuscript in which they have a competing interest. Editorial decisions are never influenced by the publisher, advertisers, or the source of funding of the research. See our Editorial Policies and Publication Ethics.
