Archiving and Digital Preservation

IJMIE is committed to the permanent availability and preservation of its scholarly content. Long-term digital preservation protects the integrity of the published record and is a requirement for indexing in DOAJ and evaluation by Scopus and the Web of Science.

Before applying to DOAJ, enable a recognized preservation service and confirm the details below. In OJS this is done via Settings → Website → Plugins (e.g. the PKP Preservation Network plugin). Replace [placeholders] with the services you actually use.

Digital Preservation

The full text of all articles is preserved through distributed, standards-based archiving:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) — [enable and confirm]. A free, distributed preservation service integrated with OJS that ensures continued access if the journal ceases operation.
  • LOCKSS / CLOCKSS — [if enrolled, confirm]. Geographically distributed dark-archive preservation.
  • Portico — [optional; confirm if enrolled].
  • Local & national deposit — [national library / institutional repository, if applicable].

Persistent Identifiers

Every published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registered with Crossref, ensuring stable, citable, and permanently resolvable links to the content. Author and contributor identity is supported through ORCID.

Self-Archiving

Authors are permitted to deposit the submitted, accepted, and published versions of their articles in institutional and subject repositories without embargo, in line with our Open Access Policy. The journal's self-archiving terms are registered with [Sherpa Romeo — add once listed].

Backups & Continuity

The publishing platform is backed up regularly, and full metadata is deposited with Crossref and harvestable via OAI-PMH, so that the content remains discoverable and recoverable.

Content Stability

Published articles are considered permanent and are not removed. Any necessary changes to the record are handled through corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern as described in our Editorial Policies.
