Article Processing Charges (APC)
IJMIE is a fully open-access journal with no income from subscriptions or reader charges. To cover the costs of peer-review management, professional copy-editing and typesetting, DOI registration, XML production, long-term digital preservation, and platform maintenance, the journal levies an Article Processing Charge (APC) on manuscripts that are accepted for publication.
There Are No Submission Fees
Submitting to IJMIE is free. No charge is made for submission, and no fee is required at any point during peer review. The APC becomes payable only after a manuscript has been accepted on scientific merit.
Article Processing Charge
| Article type | APC |
|---|---|
| Original Research / Review Article | [amount + currency, e.g. USD 000] |
| Short Communication | [amount + currency] |
Insert the final APC figures agreed with the publisher. The amount must match exactly what is stated in your DOAJ application and invoices — DOAJ and Scopus check for consistency.
What the APC Covers
- Management of rigorous double-anonymous peer review.
- Professional copy-editing, typesetting, and JATS XML production.
- DOI registration with Crossref and metadata deposit to indexing services.
- Immediate, permanent open-access hosting under CC BY 4.0.
- Long-term digital preservation and archiving.
Waiver & Discount Policy
The journal is committed to ensuring that ability to pay is never a barrier to publishing high-quality research. Full or partial waivers are available:
- Automatic country waivers — corresponding authors based in countries classified by the Research4Life programme (low-income and lower-middle-income economies) are eligible for a full or substantial waiver.
- Hardship waivers — authors without access to research funding may request a waiver on a case-by-case basis.
- Waiver requests must be made at the time of submission, before peer review, so that editorial decisions remain entirely independent of any fee consideration.
Editorial Independence from Fees
The decision to accept or reject a manuscript is made solely on academic grounds and is never influenced by the authors' ability to pay the APC or by any waiver request. Editors and reviewers are not informed of a manuscript's payment or waiver status during review.
Payment
Upon acceptance, the corresponding author receives an invoice with payment instructions. The APC can then be paid securely online: authors in India pay in INR via CCAvenue, and international authors pay in USD via PayPal. Payment is due before final publication. For enquiries, contact the editorial office.

Additional Charges
There are no additional charges for colour figures, supplementary files, or the number of pages. The APC is the only charge levied by the journal.
